Give Yourself The Gift Of "Love": A 12 Month Series #giftoflove2017

Do you ever feel like you could show more love to your family and friends?  Or, that you need to receive more love?  Give yourself the gift of love in 2017 - a 12 month series where I will share my journey of giving more love to bring myself more happiness.  Are you in?  If so, use the hashtag #giftoflove2017 when you share this post to your social media.

January 1, 2017 marked the first day of a challenge I joined on social media called: "1 year of stitches 2017".  It was started by a young woman I met on IG from a post I read on Twitter.  
Since, I am skilled at embroidery and was in great need of some "me time" I decided to read more about this challenge.  After, I saw how easy it was and all I had to do was make some stitches daily for 365 days I decided to join in the fun. #1yearofstitches2017

That is not the end of my why? story.  How did I come up with this idea to give yourself the gift of love?  It had nothing to do with the movie.  It all came from a song I saw posted on FB with Celine Dion and Barbra Streisand called: "Tell Him"
In that song there is a line that says: "Love will be the gift you give yourself".  The rest is about to become my history of 2017 and beyond.

January I am giving away fabric bookmarks that I handmade to 12 of my friends and family members.  Since, this is a 12 month challenge to give yourself the gift of love I decided on gifting 12 handmade items each month.
This bible bookmark brings me to the real heart of the matter of this topic.  The words recorded in this divine book of wisdom reveals the true meaning; Matthew 22:37-39 and Acts 20:35 give us a clue as to what kind of giving this involves.  It is not in word but in deed that we can give to others and ourselves the gift of love.

I have 7 bookmarks made for this month and just need to make 5 more for this challenge of #giftoflove2017.  

My first bookmark is on it's way to a new friend I met on IG who lives in Broken Bow, OK.  She was attacked by dogs while out walking in her neighborhood.  I thought it would be a great 'get well' wishes gift to send her along with a collection of my other handmade gifts.
