Do you know why you should be writing in a journal each day?
I'm going to share with you my personal story and medical statistics as to why you should be keeping on nearby.
If you are on social media you probably have friends and family following you. Do you read their posts? Have you noticed some saying that they can't sleep good. Or, that they have an anxiety issue? I know I read a post like these every day on all of my social media channels.
Why do we have a sleep and anxiety issue in the first place? Well, if you pay attention to the world around you, you can't help but notice how angry people are when you are in the store or driving on the road.
Everyone seems to be in a rush to get somewhere and to get out of the store fast. Or, to their destination before you when driving on the road. It's this constant rush, rush, rush attitude that is causing all of this anger and anxiety. So, how do you deal with it even if you don't have that same attitude?
Despite the fact that you might not be like the majority of people today we are nevertheless effected by the spirit of the world in general. To counteract that negative affect on us we have to have an outlet. For some it might me taking a walk in the park. For others it might be reading the Bible. For yet still others it might be watching TV.
Some have to take pills in order to deal with sleep and anxiety issues. That is so sad. But, I discovered an easy way to get rid of anxiety and sleep better with a few simple tips that I read in countless articles on the subject.
Here is a list of what I do each day in order to deal with anxiety and sleep better.
Tip #1 -
Write in your journal every night before you go to bed. Briefly document what positive things you accomplished for the day. In another journal write down three things that you are grateful for that day. Repeat this process every night. ( I keep two journals for this process)
Tip #2 -
When anxiety floods your mind quickly think of something that brought you joy. It can be anything that happened in your life even if it was a while back. Then repeat the words, joy, peace, calm and love silently to yourself until you start to feel those qualities take over the anxiety.
Tip # 3 -
Use a method that helps you let go of those negative thoughts. I like to use the Sedona method.
You ask yourself a series of questions while you're having the anxiety or negative thoughts.
Question 1 - Could I let this go?
Question 2 - Would I let this go?
Question 3 - When?
Question 4 - Why?
Each answer should be a positive response. Then put that event out of your mind and replace it with a joyful one. Do this each time those unpleasant feelings hit and soon you'll find they become less and less frequent in your day.
Tip # 4 -
Go to bed the same time each night and get up the same time each day. Set your alarm so you don't sleep in too late. This will help reset your internal clock and help your blood sugar to stay level.
