 Here is the interview that I conducted with Kallie:

1. Kallie would you share something with us that you would like us to know.

When I was younger I liked to watch my Grandma sew, but I never wanted to learn. Then I had to take sewing in school and I hated it.  I did love to make crafts and macrame, and I loved selling my work in California, before I moved back to Oklahoma when I was 21. 

I started to pick up sewing when I was a manager in a fabric store.  I remember my first outfit that I made of a baby's shorts and a top. I first sewed the shorts upside down, which my sister-n-law helped me to fix right. I still have that outfit.  I didn't give up, I kept going and started to put my sewing in craft fairs and won first place ribbons and ever since then, I have been sewing  for clients til this day, I love sewing now and have been doing it for over 30 years.

2.  I read on your profile page that you are from Muldrow, Oklahoma.  Can you please tell us what you like best about where you live.

 I like living in Oklahoma now, but when I first moved back here it was a culture shock.  People are so friendly.  I love country living and all my family lives real close.

3.  Do you have another local venue where you also sell your items?

 Yes I sell at a local craft mall and on 3 other venue's, although etsy is the most active in sales.

1.  What made you decide to open your own etsy shop?

When my brother and I had to close down our store due to health reasons, I still wanted to sell what I made, so I opened up the Etsy shop to share my work. It has been a blessing.

2.  What do you enjoy most about having your own shop?

The freedom to work when I can and make thing that I love to do.  Etsy has been a life saver to me.

Here is the interview that I conducted with Della.

1. What are some things that you use for inspiration when you are designing an item for your shop? 

 I love ribbon and I'll often design a project around it.  I'm also inspired by color combinations that I see around me such as in nature, the current color trends in home decor and in attractive ads.  I'm always thinking about "What makes me buy this product?"  Is it the packaging, color, message?

 2.  Do you ever get custom orders?  If so what advise do you have for other team members on how to make sure that your customer is happy with your finished product. 

Yes.  I do quite a bit of custom work locally.  For my online shops, I offer personalized messages in my cards and color customization on some of my gift items.  Communication helps with customer satisfaction.  To make custom work profitable, I find it helps to have a basic design that you then customize.

3.  What are your short-term goals for your shop?   To have 150 items.  What are your long-term goals for your shop? 

To offer kits with instruction and monthly subscription items.

 4.  Are you currently having any sales? 

Yes, I've steadily increased my sales this year.

 5.  Do you have any current coupons for your shop?

Here is the interview I conducted with Cynthia:

1.  How do you encourage your customers to leave feedback for your shop?

I ask my customers to give me feedback by putting it on their receipt.  I also ask if they would leave feedback when they receive their purchase.  I have gotten feedback from all of my sales but one, so I emailed them asking again for feedback and I got it!

2.  I absolutely love your idea of having a weekly special!!   
Has having a weekly special item in your shop helped to increase your sales and is there anything else that you have done that has been successful in increasing sales?
I have only been doing the weekly special for 2 weeks. I choose an item that has high stats and then I either lower the price or offer free shipping.  It hasn't been long enough for me to tell how it is going to work, but I think that when people catch on it is going to be a good thing. The Weekly Special is something that I will continue to do.

3.  Do you have a blog? 
If so could you please share your blog url address?

4. The photos in your shop are so professional looking. 
Could you share one or two tips with us on how you take your pictures?
I like to take my pictures where there is natural sunlight, this shows the true colors and textures of what I am photographing.  I have a window seat in my dining room and that is where I shoot my photos.  I have wanted to be a photographer so that helps too.  I have many photos on my walls that I have taken myself that people think I bought. I use my IPhone to take my pictures, but if you use a camera tripod it helps to get a steady picture.

Ladybug:  Marsha applied for the Etsy Fellowship Grant at the end of September and we were approved to receive help from Etsy!   Yay!!  
This is a great opportunity for our team.  It helps to get us in the spotlight of the Etsy Admin. team members. We are no longer just another pretty face to them.  It also goes to show you that if we keep trying eventually things will take off in the right direction.  Our team captain, Marsha, is  always looking for ways to get our co-op noticed, which will bring in both traffic and sales to all of the members. 

It takes all of us doing our part no matter how small it may seem to keep the wheel of progress turning for our team.  
Next year, Marsha will be applying each quarter for grants, so we need to have another great fundraiser for them to get excited about and help us out with.  That is why our participation is so vital for all the activities that we are doing in order for us to succeed.

Here is the interview I conducted with Kayla:

1.  I noticed that you changed the name of your shop.  What was the motivation behind the name change?

Well I wanted a name that fully reflected my love of drawing, and the name delecto is a Latin word meaning "to take delight in something".  Since I take such delight in drawing I felt that Delecto Art was the perfect choice.

2.  Do you take custom orders in your shop?  

Yes, I do.  Sometimes I have a customer who requests a specific drawing or even a specific style of drawing.  I will spend some time with them to get a better understanding of what they are looking for and then I will draw up several samples for them to aprove before I start on their order.

Here is the interview I conducted with Kayla:


1.What is your favorite material to work with?

I like to use soft sketching pencils (Derwent and Reeves brands) for my animal drawings but when I draw anime or steampunk I like the way India Ink looks ( Faber-Castell).

2. What are some of your other hobbies, besides your artwork?

I also make jewelry such as earrings, bracelets and necklaces using a variety of materials. I also love gardening and landscaping I look forward to pursuing that more fully in the future.
