Wholesale Gift of the Month Club

Wholesale Gift of the Month Club

Markets of Sunshine has been offering handmade gift sets for over two years.  We began our humble business in the spring of 2011 and have grown by leaps and bounds.  After, many months of market research we have determined that our gifts are mainly loved by women who enjoy handmade and something useful in the age group of forty to seventy.  That's not to say that any woman younger could not enjoy our products as well, they do, but the majority of our customer's are more experienced and appreciate the value of handmade over commercial retail goods.

To show our appreciation to our loyal customers we are offering an exclusive pilot program called, wholesale buying club called our "Gift of the Month Club."  You will be able to sign-up and receive a monthly package of handmade useful gifts for just $20 a month, including the shipping!  So, you are getting approximately $60 worth of products for just $20!

The first six to sign-up will be honorary members of our Buyer's Club and receive exclusive freebies all year long from our vendors!  Hurry!  These spots will fill up fast!!!

Please, sign-up on our website,  Markets of Sunshine to help support handmade gifts, made in the U.S.A.  We thank you in advance for your continued patronage!  Want to support our website and get a handmade gift every month for one low yearly subscription fee?  Now, you can by joining our Buyers Club here!

Featured Artist of the Week!

Now, on to this week's featured artist, Cindy Williams of CJW Design Village.  She is sharing a wonderful recipe with you this week.

Potato Soup

8 cups water
5lbs Idaho potatoes
1/2 tablespoon chicken bouillon ( I also use liquid broth instead)
1/4 tablespoon white pepper (optional)
1/ 2 tablespoon salt
1/4 tablespoon black pepper
1 can cheddar cheese soup
1/2 lb margarine (2 sticks)
3/4 cups flour
1 cups half and half
Chives, bacon bits, or parsley for garnish. (options)

In a large kettle, bring the water to a boil. Peel potatoes and cut into 1/2 inch cubes. Add to water, along with chicken bouillon, white pepper, salt and black pepper. Cook about 12 minutes or until potatoes are about half cooked.
Add the cheddar cheese soup. Simmer for 10 minutes. In a saucepan, melt the margarine. Add the flour to form a roue. Cook 3 to 4 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir into potato mixture. Simmer an additional 3 to 4 minutes.
Add half and half. Heat just to serving temperature. DO NOT BOIL. Pour into serving bowls and garnish.

This is a recipe O'Charley's restaurant published in my local paper.

This weeks tips are all about eating healthy.

1.  Instead of eating out, pack your lunch.  Preparing a health lunch should take less than 10  minutes.

2.   Steam your vegetables instead of boiling them.

3.   Replace  chips or cookies with a more nutritious snack such as nuts.  By doing this you will also add more fiber to your diet.

4.  Replace sugary drinks with water.  Your skin will thank you.

5.  Beans and other legumes are a great way to get plant based protein into your diet.

Kayla what is one of the biggest challenges that you have faced as an Etsy owner and how have you overcome it?

Getting enough inventory in my shop has been my biggest challenge. The more items that you have in your shop, the better it will look and  there will be more choices to appeal to the customer.

Kayla has shared 5 healthy tips to help you get through your day.

1. We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But not everyone has time or gets a healthy one. So why not try a quick and healthy protein shake by Peaceful Planet giving you protein and energy all in one!
2. A full glass of water in the morning helps rehydrate your body after sleeping all night.
3. Stretching in the morning and when you are on break can relieve stress but also help stiff limbs and gets the circulation going.
4. Snack on something between lunch and dinner giving your body small amounts of fuel can help when you have those energy drops and helps stop from over-eating.
5. Ah end of the day at last. A hot cup of tea after dinner can help digest your meal and help settle you down for the night.

What is your favorite health tip that helps you get through your day?  We would love to hear from you!!  Please share it with us in the comments section below.

I opened my Etsy shop in 2012 and it is my goal is to design and create unique children's accessories and clothing while remaining as earth friendly as possible. I want to create a line of clothing that will be fashionable yet help to sustain earth's natural resources for our current generation and our children's generation. All of the Outfits in my shop has been upcycled from articles of clothing that were no longer wanted. The result is a unique one-of-a-kind outfit created just for your wee princess. The knitted accessories in my shop are all made using cotton yarns.

Weekly Tip from Carolyn

Try to eat healthier this week.
Below is an example of some of my favorite healthy meals that I have found on Pinterest.  I have included the link for the recipes that are not mine. Do you have a favorite healthy recipe?         We would love for you to share it with us in the comments section below.

Breakfast
1 cup unsweetened  almond milk
1TBL  almond butter*
1 Banana
1 tsp flaxseed
Sprinkle of cinnamon
Drizzle of honey
Add a scoop of your favorite protein powder if you desire
 Blend and enjoy

Lunch
Black Bean and Quinoa Salad
http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/black-bean-and-quinoa-salad

12 oz. Dried black beans, picked over and rinsed.
Salt
1 cup quinoa, rinsed
3 tablespoons sherry vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 chipotle in adobo, minced

  1. In a large saucepan, cover the beans with cold water and bring to a boil. Cover and let stand off the heat for 1 hour.
  2. Drain the beans. Return them to the pot and cover with 3 inches of water. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat until tender, about 1 hour and 30 minutes; season generously with salt during the last 10 minutes. Drain and let cool.
  3. Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, combine the quinoa with 2 cups of water and a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Cover the saucepan and simmer the quinoa over low heat until the water has been absorbed, about 15 minutes. Spread the quinoa on a plate and let cool.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk the vinegar, soy sauce, lime juice and chipotle. Add the olive oil in a thin stream, whisking until blended. Add the black beans, quinoa, scallions, red onion, yellow pepper and cilantro. Season with salt, toss to combine and serve.
MAKE AHEAD The black bean–and–quinoa salad can be refrigerated overnight.

Scripture of the Week!
Luke 6:40 "Everyone that is perfectly instructed will be like his teacher" -NWT
Parents can do much to help their children learn how to make decisions that honor God. A fine example is one of the best teachers. When appropriate, parents can explain to their children which steps they themselves took to make a certain decision. They may also want to allow their children to make some decisions for themselves and then commend them when the decision works out well. What, though, if a child makes a poor decision? A parent’s first inclination may be to shield the child from the consequences, but doing so may not always be in the child’s best interests. For example, the parent may allow the child to obtain a driver’s license. Suppose the child were to break a traffic law and receive a fine. The parent could pay the fine. However, if the child is required to work to pay off the fine, he is more likely to learn to be responsible for his actions.

2. How has having your own blog helped your business?

I get to show off all my hobbies and fun tips on my blog.  Surprisingly, sharing my gluten free recipes has brought me sales in my Etsy shop for my personal program that I started using over 15 years ago to be healthy and get my perfect weight.

I will get custom orders from time to time for my altered journals and books.

3.  What advice do you have for aspiring artists and shop owners?

Don't give up on having a successful online business.  It takes lots of determination and having a website outside of Etsy or other selling website is the key to success. You have to brand your business and stand out from the crowd.  Get out in the community and build a name for yourself and then bring those customer's to your online business.
