Top Glue Recommendations & Tips For Journals and Bookbinding

Hello and welcome to Markets of Sunshine!

Today you're going to learn all about glue and which ones work best for paper crafts and bookbinding.

Now if you do a Google search for best archival safe glues you'll find a long list of options.
Here is the first thing that pops on from my search.

PVA Adhesive - The links below are my affiliate links and I will make a small commission.  But, there is no extra cost involved for you.

Books by Hand pH Neutral PVA Adhesive is water soluble, solvent-free, acid-free, quality adhesive made of archival polyvinyl acetate. It can be thinned with water to extend drying time if desired. It should not become brittle with age and adheres to most porous surfaces. Ideal for bookbinding and paper projects.

My daily go-to glue for all of my journals and bookmaking is Aleens Tacky Glue
You'll find my affiliate link in my last blog post Here.>>> How to Embellish a Happy Mail Binder.

It dries stiff and needs to be used very sparingly in my opinion.  A little goes a long way.  It can be mixed with water so you don't see the glue through the paper or card stock after it dries.

  • non-toxic
  • acid free
  • archival safe
  • dries clear
  • flexible so spine opens and lays flat
  •
Brushes
  • thick stiff bristles
  • flat tip
  • synthetic
  • wash immediately
  • dry flat not vertical so metal part won't rust

Craft Room Makeover On a Budget

Get our DIY tutorial here. <<<<<

I hope you enjoy this craft room makeover on a budget video.
You're going to take a little tour with me of my craft room makeover.

It took us less than a month to complete.  We started by taking everything out of the room.  Put non-voc paint on the walls (the best thing to do for your health).

Next, I ordered the new furniture pieces I wanted in the room.  As you'll notice I went with a white and farmhouse gray combination.
To bring in more of the farmhouse feel I found an adorable wire shelf unit that hangs on the wall.

To learn where I bought each piece click here to nab your craft room makeover tutorial.  You'll get more inspiration and budget makeover ideas delivered to your inbox monthly.

I don't really send out every week.  I just go with my flow.  Living with Lyme disease keeps me on my toes.  I never know if I'm going to get a few hours of sleep all in a row or hit and miss.

So, it's really hard to plan things.  I have to let my body guide me.  I have the best husband in the world. He is so supportive and understands that I need to go at my own pace.  He doesn't sleep well either so we ask each other every morning if we had a good night or not.

At least I can stay home and rest the whole day.  He has to go out and slave to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table and a way for me to go to my monthly doctor appointments.

So when you buy a product from one of my Etsy shops you're making it possible for me to stay creative and help others live a better life.

It may not seem like a big deal to you but it's a very big deal to me.
So, I wanted to say: Thank You! to all who support my small business and help me live a creative life.

Want to make my day brighter?  Just visit one of our shops and pick up a little gift for yourself or a friend.  I promise it will put a smile on your face when you experience shopping with us.

You'll find all sorts of fun and carefree accessories for travel and every day life in my Markets Of Sunshine <<< click) shop.

Want a vintage gift that is unique and rare?  Then head on over to our Pioneer Fundraiser <<< click) shop.  Every sale helps us get one step closer to retiring my husband so we can volunteer in the community and help others live a better life.

Hi, I'm Marsha, the owner of this little blog.
